The problem

You can find most cannabis deals. You just can't reliably compare them.

Cannabis deal news is everywhere; comparable deal data is not. So the simple questions stay unanswerable. Five things stop news from being usable data — here's how the Cannamonitor Deal Tracker fixes each.

Each problem, and the fix. Tap to expand ↓

Problem 1Deals are unclassified
Cannamonitor Deal Tracker — pre-classified

Every deal is tagged by vertical, country, type and stage, so the whole market is filterable instead of a pile of headlines. Pull "all medical-cannabis M&A in Germany since 2023" in seconds.

Every deal tagged
Problem 2Currencies don't match
Cannamonitor Deal Tracker — USD-normalised

Every figure is converted to USD at a stated FX basis, so a German raise and a US acquisition compare like-for-like.

12 currencies normalised
Problem 3The headline isn't the price
Cannamonitor Deal Tracker — consideration split

Upfront, earn-out and equity broken out, so you see what was actually paid — not the press-release number.

·· % of deals carry earn-outs
Problem 4Deal stage is ambiguous
Cannamonitor Deal Tracker — explicit stage

Each deal is tracked LOI → signed → closed, with no double-counting of the same transaction across announcements.

Problem 5Sources are scattered or paywalled
Cannamonitor Deal Tracker — source-linked

Every entry links to its original filing, release or regulatory document — open, verifiable and citable.

Methodology · the trust layer

How we build it.

Every record follows the same rules — no exceptions.

One record, tracked over time

Each deal is a living record, not a one-off headline. We follow it across its lifecycle — rumour → LOI → signed → closed (or collapsed) — and keep the history back to 2017, so you see how terms, parties and valuations actually evolved.

Financially sense-checked

Every figure is normalised to USD at a stated FX basis and pressure-tested for coherence: upfront vs earn-out vs equity split out, multiples computed consistently, outliers queried against filings. Disclosed only — never estimated silently

Authoritative sources, cross-validated

Built only from high-quality, authoritative open sources — regulatory filings, exchange disclosures, official releases — with every material fact corroborated across multiple independent sources before it's logged. Each entry links back to the original.

Analyst-curated nuance

Humans add the judgment a scraper can't: cannabis relevance judged at the asset level (a cannabis operator buying a drinks brand is logged as non-cannabis), deal types disambiguated, edge cases reasoned. Nothing enters without review.

Common questions.

If you have others, get in touch →

Yes — your email unlocks every deal, filter and source link. No card, no trial clock.

Paid tiers only add ongoing monitoring (Essentials) and company depth (Decide).

The live tracker updates continuously (page stamped 23 Jun 2026); inside Decide it’s real-time.

The deal record should be a commodity. We earn when you need ongoing monitoring (Essentials) or the company graph behind each deal (Decide).

Every figure links to its source. Undisclosed values are logged as undisclosed, never guessed.

Parties, date, type, stage, consideration split, country, vertical and the source link — every deal on the same fields.

A few — but all limited in different ways.

One type is much shallower on depth, scope, classification and rigour, often built by PR companies, not market-intelligence firms.

The other has strong coverage of US/Canadian debt and equity markets, but missing across Europe, Asia-Pacific and LatAm.

We’re the global, analyst-built option.

A model summarises news; it can’t hand you 550+ deals on one currency basis with the source filing attached. This is a database, not a guess.

News says a deal happened. We tell you the consideration, structure and multiple — and how it compares to every other deal.

The acquisition consolidates GW's cannabinoid IP under Jazz, resetting the competitive set for prescription cannabinoid medicines across epilepsy and adjacent CNS indications, and re-rating peer multiples as strategic buyers reassess the pipeline.
